The Mental Edge of Ignorance
Learning How To Play DumbBy Jay Reynolds | 0 Comments
Golf is a strange game, often a game of opposites. You must strike down on the ball to make it go up, you swing to the right to make it curve left, the lower your score the higher you place, and oddly enough the more you think the worse off you might be. I have been playing golf for my entire life of 26 years, and professionally for the last three and a half, my dream of reaching the PGA Tour set firmly in my sights. read more »
The Flat Belly vs The Flat Stick
Good News For All The Average Joe's Out ThereBy Jay Reynolds | 1 Comments
If you’re like me, you’ve probably asked anyone and everyone what they do to improve their golf games. I’m always curious to know what guys on the PGA Tour are doing to improve. I’ve learned quite a bit just by asking a few questions, more than will fit on a few pages of a magazine. One thing I have discovered is going to come as good news for all the average golfers out there. There is no reason that an overweight, potato-chip-loving, paunchy, out-of-shape average guy can’t develop his golf skills. read more »

Jim Remy Elected President of PGA America
By Wayne Mills
For the first time in their history, the PGA of America has elected a New Englander as President. Jim Remy, General Manager of Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow, Vt. was elected in November, 2008 for a two year term. He had previously served on the PGA National Board of Control for six and one half years starting in 1997 before being elected Secretary and Vice President of the organization in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
The PGA of America was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. They represent over 28,000 men and women golf professionals throughout the United States.
Remy's career in recreation didn't start out in the golf business. He came to Vermont in 1979 as a pro ski racer and then an instructor and pursued golf only as a means to fill up his summers. He calls it "the perfect life; skiing all winter and playing golf all summer."
Originally from Leominster, Mass., Remy started his golf professional career as an assistant at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass. which coincidentally was the site of the first Ryder Cup, one of the PGA of America's crown jewels. He was an assistant pro there before moving nearby to Mount Pleasant Country Club. After earning his Class A designation from the PGA in 1984, he took his first head pro job at Killington Golf Resort in Vermont's Green Mountains in 1985, eventually ascending to Director of Golf for not only Killington but the other golf resorts then owned by S-K-I Ltd in Vermont. A Rookie Season on the PGA Tour…..A Field of Dreams
Brad Adamonis from Cumberland Rhode Island to The PGA Tour
If your dream is to someday play golf on the PGA Tour then be prepared to work harder then you could ever imagine if you plan to reach your goal. For Brad Adamonis all the years of practice and playing golf have finally brought him to his dream. In January of this year he made his rookie debut as the oldest rookie, at 35, on the PGA Tour.
When you understand the odds of reaching a goal like this it becomes truly remarkable that any athlete would ever consider the journey. There are only 125 spots up for grabs each year on the PGA tour. If you are lucky enough or good enough to stay around for a while or win on the tour you will have some kind of exempt status for a period of time. (There are only 168 Players that have won 5 or more times in the history of the PGA Tour.)
